Project Graduation

Celebrate Your Graduation Safely

The Class of 2022 is hosting the 17th annual Huntingtown High School Project Graduation celebration on Wednesday, June 1. Project Graduation is a drug- and alcohol-free, all night celebration for graduating seniors and their guests on graduation night. This year’s party will be at Dave n’ Busters in Arundel Mills.

Event Details

Students will meet at HHS at 10:30 p.m. (buses depart 10:45 p.m.) on June 1 and will return at 4:00 a.m. The event is completely free for seniors (all food, games, and transportation are free). The benefits of attending Project Graduation are that the entire senior class and their friends can celebrate safely together without traveling from house to house, and it begins just as most family celebrations are winding down for the night.

Seniors are required to pay a $50 deposit that will be refunded to them if they attend Project Graduation. Guests will be charged a non-refundable fee of $50. Student deposits and guest payments MUST be made on separate checks payable to HHS to facilitate refunding seniors’ deposits promptly. Please complete a permission slip from Sharon Seger in the main office. Return the permission slip with the student’s deposit by Wednesday, May 18, so we can finalize our head count with Dave n’ Busters and order the buses.

Event History & Background

Since the inception of Project Graduation in 1987, there have not been any drug or alcohol-related motor vehicle incidents involving any Calvert County graduates on graduation night. Our celebration is being sponsored by the Calvert Alliance Against Substance Abuse (CAASA), the Maryland Highway Safety department, and Huntingtown High School. Additional donations are needed and would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to donate all or part of your senior’s deposit to the celebration, please indicate how much on the permission slip.
